Mixed Reality FPS Spatial Ops to leave Quest beta in 2024

Spatial Ops, the mixed reality FPS from Resolution Games, will be released on the Meta Horizon Store later this year.

Originally revealed two years ago, Spatial operations previously released as an open beta on Side mission. This Laser Tag-like experience turns your living space into a battlefield, supporting 1-8 users on Quest 2, Pro, and 3 via co-location. You can choose an Arena mode where you fight against friends or bots in Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Domination, and a free-for-all mode.

Spatial Ops also features a new story mode that promises a two-hour campaign inspired by '80s action and sci-fi films.

“Take on the role of an agent across seven hand-crafted levels with a fully narrated story as portals appear around you from every angle. Develop as a character by unlocking and upgrading your weapons as you set out to save the world,” Resolution Games said in a press release.

Resolution previously confirmed that the beta will remain available until the official launch, and also outlined some of the changes existing players can expect in the launch version. Spatial Ops is currently focused on “reduced game time settings, preset and movable maps, performance optimizations, more gameplay, more enemies, and more modes.”

Spatial Ops arrives on the Meta quest platform at the end of 2024.
