A mother was beaten up online after revealing she asked a man in a wheelchair to move so she could sit on the bus next to her five-year-old daughter.

Posting on the ‘Am I the A**hole’ Reddit group, the 32-year-old woman explained that her daughter had to sit next to her for “safety reasons,” but the wheelchair-bound man refused because he needed space for his seat.

“I was surprised and frustrated by this response,” the mother wrote, asking the online group to decide who was wrong.

Unfortunately for the mother, the vast majority of members felt she had failed.

In the Reddit post, which saw more than 2,500 people weigh in, the mom expressed her frustration at the man not giving up his spot.

“I ended up having to stand the entire ride with my daughter in tow, which was uncomfortable and exhausting for both of us,” the woman wrote.

She added that when she shared the story with friends, they accused her of being “insensitive and capable.”

“They pointed out that the person in the wheelchair was entitled to the space they needed and that it was unfair of me to ask them to move,” she added.

The comments prompted the woman to pop the “Am I the A**hole” question on Reddit, and the now closed board sided with her friends.

One Reddit user sarcastically wrote, “I’m so sorry your legs got tired from standing. Must be difficult if the person in the wheelchair can sit all the time.’

Like many others, the user passed the verdict, “YTA,” which means “You’re the bastard.”

Another Reddit user came up with what others think would have been the simple solution, for the mother and daughter to just share the one open seat.

“Your child can sit on your lap or you can ask someone else to move,” the user wrote. “People with disabilities literally have ONE place on the bus that they can be. YTA.’

Another user weighed in on the negative lesson the child learned from her mother’s actions.

“I feel for this child and the lessons they are learning. My heartbreak for this child and this child’s potential to become just as good an AH as their AH parent.”

Another Reddit user agreed to be a bus driver, explaining that the wheelchair-bound man probably strapped his mobility device to the bus so it wouldn’t slip.

“In order for him to move his chair, someone would have to loosen his chair to allow OPs to sit up,” they wrote.

One user echoed many on the board, saying the mother should have just accepted to stay put.

The child sits and you stand. Simple. YTA,” they wrote.
