O
ne of the surprise packages of the World Cup , Morocco can extend their fine run at Qatar today – if they can get past former champions Spain .
While that’s hardly an enviable opponent, the Atlas Lions have impressed. In the knockout rounds for the first time since 1986, only an own goal has so far broken through their defense and few can doubt their quality going forward.
La Roja, meanwhile, endured a mixed group stage. Superb against Costa Rica, functional against Germany and weak against Japan, Luis Enrique’s team has a lot to prove.

Morocco vs Spain latest team news
Cesar Azpilicueta and Dani Olmo missed practice after defeat to Japan with punches like David Raya, but are expected to leave for Spain.
Luis Enrique has largely rotated his line-up for that match, so he will recall Jordi Alba and Aymeric Laporte to defend him. Alvaro Morata and Marco Asensio battle to start at the front.
Morocco boss Walid Regragu, meanwhile, got the chance to win over star players Hakim Ziyech and Achraf Hakimi during their last appearance.
