The 10-week-old child was in the care of her mother Lauren Saint George, 25, just eight days before her death, against the advice of hospital staff.
Saint George wept as she was found guilty of infanticide after a trial today.
She was acquitted of murder, manslaughter and cruelty to anyone under 16.
Her partner Darren Hurrell, also 25, was acquitted of cruelty to neglect.
