A motorcyclist died after an accident between a truck and a motorcycle in Noordland’s Matapouri.
Emergency services were called on Sunday afternoon after the accident on Matapouri Rd, near the intersection of Kaiatea Rd, northeast of central Whangārei.
The accident was reported to police just after 12:30 p.m., a police spokesman said.
Police have meanwhile confirmed the motorcyclist is dead.
The road was meanwhile reopened, after being closed for the afternoon while emergency services worked on the scene.
A spokesman for the St John Ambulance said one patient was also treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Northland’s rescue helicopter did not attend the crash.
Matapouri Rd is also known as the Twin Coast Discovery Highway.
