A motorcyclist has been killed in a traffic accident in Dublin early this morning.
ardaí is investigating the incident that happened shortly after 2 a.m. in Rathmines.
Gardaí received reports of a seriously injured male motorcyclist on St Clare’s Avenue, Rathmines. St Clare’s Avenue is located between Grosvenor Square and Leinster Park. The man, in his twenties, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has since been removed to the morgue of the city where an autopsy will be performed at a later date,” said a Garda spokesman.
“The scene was subsequently preserved and forensic collision investigators conducted a technical investigation. The area is now open to the public.”
Gardaí is calling on anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
All road users or pedestrians who have CCTV footage, including dashcam footage, and who traveled near St Clare’s Avenue, Grosvenor Square or Leinster Park between Wednesday, July 27, 11:30 PM and Thursday, July 28, 2:15 AM, are requested to make these images available to Gardaí .
