A WOMAN has revealed how her husband got him and their girlfriend pregnant at the same time, with strangers mistaking them for 'pregnant best friends'.
Alexandra Simpson, 26, and her husband Zane Simpson, 27, from Athens, Georgia, were together for seven years with two young children before Kai Pruitt, 22, came into their lives.

After opening their marriage, Alexandra initially fell in love with Kai Pruitt who she met from OKCupid and brought her to the family home.
But months later, her husband, Zane, fell for her too, and they eventually became a polyamorous threesome with two babies on the way at the same time.
Although the triad has faced criticism from family, strangers and society, they claim they are the happiest they have ever been.
Alexandra, a parcel deliverer, says: “Most married couples are secret swingers or are dating others.
“It's more normal than people think and I really hope that polyamory becomes more accepted.
“We may be going against societal norms, but I wouldn't trade my big, wonderful family for anything.”
Alexandra and her husband, Zane, a warehouse worker, met in 2014 when they were both teenagers.
They were part of the Morman church with their families in Georgia.
'Deep inside I had a secret'
Alexandra says: “One Sunday afternoon in church, during mass, I met Daan. Our families loved each other.
'But deep inside I had a secret. I also liked women. But being in such a strict, religious family, I had tried to fight my feelings.
“For years I didn't even tell myself. I knew how close-minded my family and our church were.”
Two years later, in 2016, Alexandra and Zane married in the presence of close family and friends.
But after their first year of marriage, Alexandra got a confession.
Alexandra says: 'We were very used to married life, but Daan made typical husband jokes and said we should have a threesome.

'I used to laugh and tell him to stop. I knew he was joking.
“One day Daan jokingly brought up another threesome. I said, 'What if we have one?'
“He thought I was joking, but I said I meant it. After that, I was the one who brought it up often and became braver each time.
“Then that year I finally found the courage to tell Zane that I was bisexual. I dug into all the reasons I was so afraid to admit it, and he was amazing.
“He thanked me for telling me and hugged me. After that he always said he was happy that I discovered my sexuality and that I could have my own girlfriend if I wanted.”
LOOKING FOR SOMEONE NEW
Over the years, the couple discussed possibly opening their marriage. Meanwhile, they had two children, Pearce, 5, and Onyx, 3.
Alexandra says, “We loved being parents, and our marriage was still strong. But we still wanted to explore beyond ourselves.
“We researched online and started researching open marriages and polyamory.
“Ironically, the Mormons allowed polygamy, where a Mormon man could have multiple wives. But 120 years ago it was forbidden and rejected by the church.
“I knew my family would never agree. But Daan and I had to put our own happiness first.'
In August 2021, after seven years together, Alexandra and Zane opened their marriage, and Alexandra met Kai, 22, a warehouse worker, from dating site OKCupid.
Alexandra says: “Kai was undeniably beautiful. We started talking about our lives and I discovered that Kai was raised the same way I was.
“She was polyamorous and looking for love, but didn't have much experience.
'She was one of the strongest people I had ever met. When I was with her, I felt fireworks.
“At home, Daan was supportive and gave his blessing. I got into a relationship with Kai.”
THREE IN ONE BED
A month later, Alexandra brought her new girlfriend home to introduce to her husband.
To her relief, they got along well and after Kai had a falling out with her family that year, the couple offered her to stay at their home with their children.
Alexandra says: “After that I juggled my relationship with both of them. At night I changed beds, and sometimes it was difficult to balance everything in a busy household.
“But the three of us also hung out informally. It was then that Zane and Kai really built a friendship.
“I started working and they were home together a lot. They took the kids to the park, watched movies and cooked dinner.
“As the months passed, I noticed a spark between them. They laughed and flirted.
“I didn't want to put any pressure on them, so I didn't say anything. But one night I came home from work and they both told me that they had kissed and confessed that they had fallen for each other.
“I was so happy because it happened organically.”
That week, Alexandra, Zane, and Kai sat down together and decided to become a polyamorous threesome.
They immediately went shopping and were upgraded to a super king size bed.
A BEAUTIFUL CONNECTION
Alexandra says: “I had never slept with two people at the same time, and we were Kai's first couple.
“But being with a woman for the first time felt very natural. And Daan and I felt comfortable with her.
“It turned out that all three of us had a beautiful bond. Kai was like the missing piece of our puzzle.

“The children were ecstatic and loved their second mother. Sometimes, when Daan was working, Kai would cook and I would clean.
“I had gone from one great partner to two, and it felt perfect.”
But after the trio told their families, they faced criticism. Kai's family feared she was being used for a “check” and “extra life support.”
While Alexandra's family told them it was against the church, they cut her off.
EXPANDING THE FAMILY
Despite everyone's disapproval, the trio went from strength to strength and Kai even started trying to have a baby in 2022.
Alexandra says: “Zane and I came along and bought her ovulation tests to keep track. But funny enough, right after Kai started trying, I felt sick every day.
“I took a pregnancy test and had Kai in the bathroom with me. When Kai saw two faint lines appear on my stick, he screamed.
“It was a complete shock. Two weeks later, Kai took a test and it was also positive. We were both pregnant.”
The trio immediately started planning, with Kai and Alexandra running baby errands together and preparing for their new arrivals.
But unfortunately, while Alexandra was still two months along, Kai suffered a miscarriage.
Alexandra says: “We were devastated. But when I was four months old, Kai became pregnant again. It was wonderful that we got a second chance.
What is polyamory?
Polyamory is having more than one romantic relationship at the same time.
a throuple or triad is a three-way relationship, where each of the three people is in a romantic relationship with the other two people.
A open relationship is when one or both parties in a romantic couple date other people. The couple can be married or unmarried.
Ethical Non-Monogamy (ENM) or consensual non-monogamy (CNM) is a relationship in which the people involved date and sleep with other people, but agree on the dynamics. These relationships typically value open communication. Many people who practice polyamory consider themselves ethically non-monogamous.
Swingers are couples who exchange sexual partners or have group sex with other people or couples.
“When our bellies got bigger at the same time, we went baby shopping, got the house ready and went to each other's scans.
“Strangers and colleagues assumed we were pregnant best friends. When they found out, they stopped talking to me. But I didn't let it get to me.
“I soon found out I was having a daughter.”
In June 2023, while Alexandra still had a month to go, Kai had her own gender reveal party after three months.
They discovered Kai also had a daughter, and the couple spent the day having photos taken while cradling their bellies together.
Four weeks later, in July 2023, Alexandra went into labor and gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Lilith.
Alexandra says: “Kai and Daan were both by my side, and Kai helped cut the umbilical cord.
“But just a month later, when Kai was four months pregnant, she went into premature labor and lost our other baby.
“Our hearts were broken. Even though she only lived a few minutes, we all held her and called her Zoey Renee Simpson. It was a moment we would all cherish forever.
“Now Lilith is nine months old, even though she came before Zoey, she is our rainbow baby.
“She is so lucky to have two mothers and a father. While Onyx and Pearce call Kai and I mommy and mommy.
“Kai now plans to try for another baby this year once she recovers.”
