Take to Reddit the shocked bride shared a range of dresses that her mother had wanted to choose from for her role as mother of the bride.

She asked netizens: “Why does my mother send these dresses as potential mother-of-the-bride dresses?

“Are these way too light in color or is it just me?”

The collection included floor-length lace dresses in very light shades, and some dresses also had beautiful floral embellishments.

The bride said: “Some of these are better than others, I don't mind the ones that are clearly gold.”

The woman said she had tried to gently guide her mother away from the dresses, but so far had been unsuccessful.

She explained: “I keep making comments like 'that one's a bit too light' or 'that one looks like it's photographing white'.

“Part of me doesn't really care because it will be obvious who the bride is on my wedding day, but would you be upset about these dresses?”

Many people were quick to share their opinions on the dresses.

One person wrote: “I would 100000000000% absolutely say no to my mother. By no means.”

A second commented: “This was literally one of the most frustrating parts of wedding planning for me because my mother did the same thing – she literally sent me a dress in the shade 'antique white'.

“They can't say it's off-white, champagne, ivory… IT'S WHITE. “

However, some people said that the dresses would be suitable for the mother to wear.

One person wrote: “Many more mature styles only come in 3-4 colors and beige/taupe/champagne is one of them.”

Another added: “Honestly these look good to me. If your relationship with your mother is good, I wouldn't try to take it maliciously.

Wedding planner shares her opinion about guests wearing white

A WEDDING planner was fed up when he noticed four women wearing white-hued dresses to a ceremony.

Her annoyance was so great that she could not bite her tongue.

Wedding planner Cari Izaguirre said there is no reason for a guest to ever show up in the same color as the bride.

Speaking of etiquette, she said in a clip: “You don't wear white to a wedding. Or light ivory. You just don't do it.”

While standing outside a reception she was hosting, she said four people with sporty appearances crossed the line.
