The man replied, “He can’t touch me, ma’am, what do you mean he can’t touch me? He can’t, I’ll have him arrested in five seconds.”
Ms Dorries told viewers, “The cameraman didn’t touch him.”
‘Then touch me! If someone touches me, I call the police. Then touch me and you can be dropped,” the man continued.
“Are you OK?” Mrs. Dorries whispered to the cameraman as the man continued to scream. “Shall I move?”
“Put a finger on me, anyone, you’re spending the afternoon in a police cell,” he yelled
The man was then able to rant incoherently as the camera cut back to an advertisement for the upcoming Conservative leadership debate next Thursday.
‘It’s not a vanity project’
Before the hiatus, Ms Dorries defended the £778 million cost of hosting the Commonwealth Games at a time when families are faced with mounting bills and mounting difficulties.
She told Sky News from Birmingham: “It’s not a vanity project… This is hugely important.”
“You mean we shouldn’t have the Commonwealth Games? I think we’re proud and honored to have picked up the baton when it was dropped elsewhere in the world and to continue to lead these Commonwealth Games in the great way we have done .”
“Everyone here – thousands of people – is extremely proud, including the volunteers who are now behind me, extremely proud of what we do.”
