NATO issued horror warning: Putin could muster air force to attack European alliance | World | News

The report comes as Russia struggles to make a profit in Ukraine and hold onto the conquered country. On Wednesday, Ukrainian forces managed to severely damage the Antonovsky Bridge in Kherson, which serves as a key Russian military supply link.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry tweeted: “Successful missile strikes on bridges over the Dnipro River by UAarmy create an impossible dilemma for the Russian occupiers in Kherson.

“Retire or be destroyed by UAarmy. The choice is theirs.”

Also on Wednesday, the NATO Defense College released a new report entitled “Russia’s Military After Ukraine: Down but Not Out,” in which the policy paper analyzes the current state of Russia’s armed forces.

According to the report, “Russia has not used its full military potential in its attack on Ukraine,” despite the heavy losses Russia has suffered.

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which began in February, Russia has suffered losses in military personnel, armored vehicles, aircraft and artillery weapons.

The report continued: “It did not order a general mobilization.

“Maintaining the ability to participate in operations against NATO, if necessary, may explain some of the features and ‘surprises’ of Russia’s war against Ukraine.

“For example, the limited use of air power, the gradual deployment of older and less accurate weapon systems, or what appears to be subdued attacks in cyberspace.”

The report added: “The official Russian narrative is almost always defensive, but the essence of Moscow’s approach is to change the status quo.

“In this context, an attack on a NATO country remains a possibility.”
