A man risked his life when he tried to flee the police — taking a dramatic leap from elevated New York City subway tracks to the roof of a building across the street.

Kendall Floyd, 25, took the plunge when bystanders begged in suspense beneath him not to do it.

Floyd was driving through the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn when police officers saw that he was not wearing a seat belt and pulled him over around 4 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said.

As police officers stopped on Humboldt and Debevoise streets, Floyd threw open the door, hit an officer in the arm and ran.

Police had caught up with Floyd within three blocks, but he refused to surrender and climbed a pole to the elevated subway tracks at the Flushing Avenue station.

In a video shared on Twitter on Wednesday Floyd stands at the edge of the tracks and adjusts his foot.

‘Don’t, dude! It is not worth it!’ spectators can be heard screaming as the police stand below.

Suddenly, while people are screaming, Floyd jumps and reaches the roof.

Officers can be seen running around the corner to a wire mesh fence blocking the rear portion of the building where the suspect landed.

One of the police officers jumps over the fence and runs to the back. Shortly after, another cop pulls a wooden frame from a pile and leans it against the fence, as if preparing to remove the fence, before the clip ends.

Floyd, of Queens, suffered a leg injury and was arrested, according to the New York Post† He was transported to Woodhull Medical Center in stable condition.

He has been charged with assault against a police officer, reckless endangerment, false impersonation, official misconduct, disorderly conduct, two counts of criminal offenses and a seat belt violation, police said.

The police officer who was struck during the car stop was taken to the Brooklyn Hospital Center for a check-up.
