Newcastle United are not willing to meet Arsenal'The asking price of £30 million for Aaron Ramsdaleaccording to reports.
Eddie Howe is looking for a new goalkeeper to provide competition for Nick Pope, who missed most of the season due to a dislocated shoulder.
Ramsdale has made just 11 appearances in all competitions this season following Mikel Arteta's decision to sign David Raya on loan from Brentford and make the Spaniard his number one goalkeeper.
Arsenal have already opted to make Raya's transfer permanent this summer for £27 millionsuggesting Ramsdale will look to leave the Emirates Stadium to secure regular playing time again.
According to MailOnline, Newcastle represents a potential destination for Ramsdale but the club believes Arsenal's £30m valuation is 'too high'.
The report claims Newcastle are looking at alternatives and also shortlisted is Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford, who lost his place in the team for the final two months of the season but is available for £20 million.
Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is also on Newcastle's radar but, like Ramsdale, represents a more expensive option.
Chelsea also retains a stake in Trafford but will have to fire Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer.
In the meantime, Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman believes Ramsdale should leave the Gunners.
“You're not going to develop as a number two,” he said on the Seaman Says podcast.
'You stay behind in the pecking order because other goalkeepers start playing.
'As an Arsenal fan I don't really want Aaron Ramsdale to leave. But as an ex-England goalkeeper, I would like to see another goalkeeper develop.
'Looking at it, I think he could go to a place like Chelsea to give himself a better chance of seeing first-team action. I think there are a few clubs that would suit him, maybe someone like West Ham too.”
