Newsnight photographer claims to have a photo of Andrew that would ’embarrass’ the firm | Royal | News

Mark Harrison, who worked as a photographer for the BBC during Prince Andrew’s infamous Newsnight interview, would not reveal what he captured in the photo, but said it would embarrass Prince Andrew and the royal family if it were released. . The prince has reportedly insisted that the photo never be made public.

However, Mr Harrison has hinted that the photo may be featured in an upcoming film explaining how the BBC managed to get hold of the interview. The film will be a dramatization and as such producers could try to replicate the picture.

A source told the Mail on Sunday that the photo, especially without context, would be shocking if released.

The source said: “Our jaws dropped when we saw it. It would cause Andrew a lot of embarrassment – and imagine how high the bar must be to embarrass him after all that has happened.”

The source added: “It’s the kind of thing that would make the public drop their cereal. It’s definitely not what Andrew would want there and apparently he insisted it be kept a secret. It wasn’t one of the recordings the BBC released .

“Obviously, there’s a chance it will be available to everyone at some point, maybe if the price is right. Of course the film about the interview will come through, so that’s a possibility.”

Harrison said the photo had only been seen by a few people and that if it came into the public domain it would be a “big deal” for the royal family.
