Nick Kyrgios has had a heated debate with a journalist over an investigation into his behavior after his Wimbledon’s win over Filip Krajinovic and told her she has ‘no story’.

The 27-year-old Australian scored an impressive straight win on Thursday to tie in the third round against Stefanos Tsitsipas, but his behavior in his opening victory led to him being investigated and fined £ 8,200.

His controversial first-round match came against Britain’s Paul Jubb, where Kyrgios admitted he spat in the direction of a fan and also called a female line judge a ‘sniff’ who ‘had no fans’ ‘on the way to a five-set victory. .

“Why would you ask me a question about two days ago?” Kyrgios asked a reporter who asked him about the investigation. “Is it because you have no story for today?”

The journalist then told him it was because there was a current investigation, to which Kyrgios replied: ‘But I played Filip Krajinovic today. Don’t you want to know how I played today? ‘

She then tried to inform Kyrgios that she had seen him win over Krajinovic, but before she could complete her sentence, he talked about her and asked, “Then why don’t you ask me a question about it?”

“Because there is an investigation,” the reporter said, with Kyrgios returning, “OK, are you investigating me personally?”

“No,” the journalist confirmed. “So why do you care?” Kyrgios said.

“Because it involves you,” she replied. “OK and I’m still at Wimbledon now … So let’s talk about it,” he told her.

“Why don’t you want to talk about it?” asks the reporter, to which he added, “Because I’ve talked about it before.”

Later at the press conference, Kyrgios revealed that the ‘media’s disrespect’ had inspired him to put on a strong performance in his victory over Krajinovic.

“I was pretty disappointed with my performance in the first round, and then of course with the media’s disrespect, it’s just a kind of reminder to put you all back in your place with my performance,” he said.
