Brandon Perea has emerged as a fan favorite of Jordan Peele’s Nope – and he’s more than willing to come back for more.

The 27-year-old shines next to it Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer in the sci-fi horror, which follows two siblings who own a horse ranch and discover something mysterious unfolding in the sky.

Despite being a relative newcomer to the acting world, Brandon has earned accolades in his own right for his warm performance as Angel, the tech shop man who embarks on the strange and wonderful journey with siblings OJ (Kaluuya) and Emerald (Palmer). ).

Basically, to sum up the general reaction to his screen time, one viewer tweeted, “Give me another movie with Angel, it doesn’t have to be a Nope sequel, I just want more Angel…”

Well maybe they just get what they want like Brandon told me metro.co.uk at the London premiere of Nope on Thursday: ‘In my opinion it’s not over yet, there is so much more to discover here, we need to do it again.

“There’s no studio telling me we’re going again, I have no idea, but as a fan I think we should go again and selfishly, I love working with all these people.”

Some may recognize Brandon from his previous role in Netflix series The OA, which he revealed helped somewhat get into Nope’s sci-fi mystery sphere.

“The roles are definitely different, but that experience I had filming two seasons of a TV show on Netflix helped. Without that experience I could never have played like I did in this movie, 100% so that definitely helped,” he said.

Brandon had nothing but praise for his co-stars, including Daniel and director Jordan, for taking him under their wing.

He recalled, “I was just learning every day, going there on my days off to learn a little more. But to see their dynamics, it’s different from Jordan and I, because we’re all different artists, but Jordan finds what works for you and then really taps into it.

“I see him and Daniel at work – Jordan and I will talk, he and Daniel don’t need to talk, it’s a strange thing. They don’t need words. Jordan will go to him and then Daniel [will just silently nod] and then go. They just have that flow where they know each other so well.’

Nope hits UK cinemas on August 12.
