Nothing Tech just announced its Ear (2) wireless earphones. This is the third member of the Nothing wireless earbud range and they serve as a direct successor to the Nothing ear (1)which launched in June 2021. In terms of design, not much has changed between the two models, but the specification department has received some useful additions.
Nothing Ear (2) supports the LHDC 5.0 audio codec that allows you to stream Hi-Res audio. The earbuds also feature a new personalized sound profile that allows you to calibrate the earbuds for your specific hearing after a quick test in the Nothing X companion app. You can further customize the equalizer settings from within the app.
Ear (2) also features adaptive active noise canceling ANC that cuts out unwanted sounds based on your specific ear profile and environment. Nothing has updated the 11.6mm drivers with a new diaphragm unit made from graphene and polyurethane materials. Voice recording has also been reworked with improved windproofing that should better isolate your voice in harsh environments. Ear (2) also entails dual pairing.
Battery life is estimated to be up to 36 hours with the charging case. You can charge the case via USB-C or go the wireless route at 2.5W speeds. The new earbuds support Google Fast Pair for Android devices and Microsoft Swift Pair for Windows users. The Ear (2) housing has an IP55 rating against dust and water splashes, while the earbuds have an IP54 rating.

Nothing’s official online and offline retail partners will be offering the Ear (2) on sale from Match 28 onwards.
