NOTTINGHAM FOREST’s play-off hero Brice Samba completed his £4.3million move to French Lens – then confessed that he will always remain a Red at heart.
The 28-year-old fan favorite earned a cult following during his three years at the City Ground.
But the Frenchman earned his place in Forest folklore for his heroic penalty save in the play-off semi-final win over Sheffield United in May.
The saves then turned his way to seal promotion at Wembley.
However Samba couldn’t agree with Forest about a new deal and Dean Henderson’s arrival loaned hastened his departure to France.
Samba took to Twitter to tell his army of supporters: “To the fans, my partners, my coaches, the staff and everyone at the club.
“Everyone I’ve met who has helped me during my time here. Thank you very much.
“I will keep these memories close to my heart. I’ve never felt anything like it.
“Forever forest.”
