Mr Cashman also claims the woman’s boyfriend owed him a drug debt of £25,000 so she wanted him “out of the way”.

During cross-examination, Mr Cashman also denied that the tracksuit bottoms allegedly worn by the gunman, which he allegedly saw two days after the murder, were particularly distinctive, claiming: “Everyone in all of Liverpool is wearing them.”

He added: “If I committed such a serious crime as the murder of a child, would I be wearing the same pair of sweatpants two days later?”

Mr Cashman is charged with carrying out the attack that killed Olivia and injured her mother Cheryl Korbel, 46, as well as convicted burglar Nee, 34, who was said to have been the intended target “without doubt”.

Mr Cashman, from Liverpool, denies the murder of Olivia, the attempted murder of Nee, wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to Olivia’s mother, and two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. to take.
