A person was seriously injured after the driver of the car they allegedly fled from police in the Hutt Valley suburb of Wainuiomata fled.
The incident took place shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday, police said.
Police tried to stop a vehicle on Moohan Street, but the driver did not stop.
The police did not pursue.

The car was found on Main rd shortly thereafter, police said.
One person was seriously injured and two others sustained minor and moderate injuries.
