Samsung’s One UI skin gets its 5.0 version with the release of Android 13 later this year. A report of SamMobile revealed from a source that Samsung will launch its Android 13 / One UI 5.0 beta in the third week of July.
The beta program will allow qualifying devices, starting with the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, to download and test One UI 5.0 before its general release, which is expected to officially arrive at Samsung devices in October, according to the report .
Samsung Galaxy S22 Series
This year is Samsung’s timing ahead of the previous beta cycle. One UI 4.0 beta last year was launched in September with the Galaxy S21 series with the official deployment taking place last November. If One UI Beta 5.0 does arrive in July as reported, the October release timeframe on the Galaxy S22 series will fit properly in line.
With the Galaxy S22 series, Samsung has committed to providing all its flagships with 5 years of updates, and timely updates appear to be part of that commitment from Samsung. The OEM was never historically known for pushing timely and regular updates, but we have seen a lot of effort from Samsung over the past few years with its S-Series and Z-foldable devices.
