A terrible fire has destroyed a ninth-floor apartment in a block of flats in west London, opposite the headquarters of GB News.
Eight fire engines and about 60 firefighters battled a blaze at a block of flats on Hermitage Street in Paddington after reports of a fire in a ninth-floor flat.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman confirmed: “The fire is under control but members of the public are asked to avoid the area while firefighters fully extinguish the fire.
“The Brigade's control officers have received more than 10 reports of the fire.
“The Brigade was called at 8.46pm and the fire was under control by 9.43pm. Crews from Paddington, Kensington, North Kensington and surrounding fire stations are still at the scene. A 32m revolving ladder has also been used as a water tower to help tackle the fire from a height.”
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
