Those traveling on the plane described the terrifying scene as flight attendants were reportedly thrown into the air, leaving them with horrific injuries.

The traveler named Cathal said, “It was horrible…never again.”

Another passenger, Emma Rose Power, said: “There was panic everywhere.

“Some of the flight attendants had scratches on their faces and ice on their faces. One girl had a sling on her arm.”

Eileen, who was on board with her partner Tony, described how he held her in her seat to prevent her from flying into the ceiling as she slept with a seatbelt on.

She told RTE: “It was so scary. I'm in no rush to get back on the plane, I can tell you that.”

Eileen added that she was just “relieved that she got home okay.”

Traveler Myla said she thought it was “the end” when the plane crashed into the sky.

Others described the plane suddenly falling for about five seconds as crews served food to the occupants.

As it turned out, the jerk turbulence was a total surprise to the pilots, as the seat belt sign was not in place at the time.

Emergency services rushed to the scene Dublin Airport on Sunday after the plane started shaking violently over Turkey about two hours into the flight.

Six crew and six passengers were injured in the dive before eight were rushed to hospital after flight QR017 landed shortly after 1pm.

In a statement, Qatar Airways told The Sun: “Qatar Airways can confirm that flight QR017, a Boeing B787-9, from Doha to Dublin has landed safely.

'Briton, 73', killed in turbulence on Singapore Airlines plane

“A small number of passengers and crew suffered minor injuries during the flight and are now receiving medical attention.

“The matter is now subject to an internal investigation. The safety and security of our passengers and crew are our top priority.”

Graeme McQueen, media relations manager at Dublin Airport operator Daa, said Sky News: “Upon landing, the aircraft was met by emergency services, including Airport Police and our fire and rescue department, thanks to six passengers and six crew members [12 total] onboard reported injuries after the plane experienced turbulence while flying in the skies over Turkey.

“The Dublin Airport team continues to provide full ground assistance to passengers and airline staff.”

An internal investigation into the incident has now been launched.

It comes just days after a Singapore Airlines Boeing plane crashed 7,000 feet in a six-minute deadly fall.

Those on board the flight that killed British grandfather Geoff Kitchen, 73, recalled them “doing somersaults” while others were “launched into the ceiling”.

Flight SQ321 has taken off London Heathrow shortly after 10pm on Monday with 211 passengers and 18 crew on board, including 47 Britons.
