Pat McAfee has left WWE to take on an exciting new role away from wrestling.
Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, the boss of the sports entertainment giant, confirmed the news Wednesday with the SmackDown commentator who will join the College GameDay team as the frontman of ESPN’s weekly soccer broadcast in the US every Saturday.
In a tweet, Triple H said: β@PatMcAfeeShow approached us about his great opportunity at College GameDay. We would never stand in the way of Pat as he builds his exceptional career.β
The Game added that McAfee – who has been a huge hit with fans as well as announcing off the table and in the ring – is still a member of the WWE family and will be back in the future.
He continued: βPat remains a member of the @WWE universe and we look forward to his return. #UpToSomethingSZN’
