A pedestrian has died after being hit by a truck on State Highway 1 south of Hunterville.
Police were called to the accident between Rowes Rd and Kie Kie Rd around 6:15 PM.

“Unfortunately, the pedestrian died at the scene,” a police spokesperson said in a statement. “The police would like to thank the motorists for their patience and cooperation.”
State Highway 1 south of Hunterville, north of Palmerston North, will remain closed after the accident and there are diversions.
The heavy crash unit investigated the accident site.
