Pep Lijnders says Conor Bradley can 'come to Salzburg immediately' as outgoing Liverpool assistant manager prepares to take charge Austria.
The Dutchman ends a long spell at Anfield by taking charge of the Austrian Bundesliga this summer.
The 41-year-old was development coach at Liverpool from 2014 to 2018 and, after a brief spell in charge at NEC, returned later in 2018 as an assistant until the end of this season.
Lijnders helped guide a number of youngsters through the ranks into the first team, with the 20-year-old right-back standing out as someone he would like to take to Salzburg, even if Reds chief Michael Edwards may not allow it.
'I really believed in it Conor Bradleyand Jarell [Quansah] and Caoimhin Kelleher, and Harvey Elliot, and Curtis [Jones],' Lijnders told The Redmen TV.
'But Conor, what is he doing here? Conor Bradley? What did he do? We have a new right defender, you don't have to buy anyone. By the way, he can come to Salzburg straight away.
'I have a lot, but I have no money. I've got money, but now you're Michael Edwards in charge!'
Earlier this month it was confirmed that Lijnders would take over at RB Salzburg and he thanked Liverpool for preparing him for management.
“At Liverpool they asked me back after NEC, and I would never have done it if I had only been asked back as number two on the staff,” he said.
'I have been given a lot of responsibility over the past six years. Jurgen had me do press conferences and match discussions. He does everything himself. He always says: “we do this work together” – and that's exactly how it is. I know I am well prepared.
'Trent [Alexander-Arnold] was my captain in the Under-16 team when I started in 2014.
“Trent was a boy with dreams – now he is a man who has added a whole new dimension to the right-back position in top-flight football. I have seen good players come in and become world stars. Mo Salah for example. It's emotional what's happening this week.'
