One person has been killed in an accident near Palmerston North.
The single-vehicle accident on Rongotea Rd occurred at about 12.20am on Saturday, police said in a statement.
“The driver, the sole occupant of the car, died at the scene.”
An investigation is underway into the circumstances of the accident.

Police previously warned motorists to be extra careful on the road following a tragic number of road deaths so far in 2022.
“The impact on whānau, friends and communities is catastrophic when someone dies in a traffic accident,” said Assistant Commissioner Bruce O’Brien.
Motorists should expect police on New Zealand’s main highways in the summer.
