At least one person has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a serious crash in Canterbury.
Emergency services responded to the crash on Wards Rd, Kirwee, at around 1.20pm on Tuesday.
A police spokesperson said the two-vehicle crash occurred between Aylesbury and Highfield Rds.
“At least one person has suffered serious injuries and will be taken to hospital.”
Fire and emergency teams from Burnham and West Melton lower stations are at the scene.
A Fenz spokesperson told the newspaper New Zealand herald People may be trapped in the vehicles.
A Hato Hone St John ambulance and rapid response unit were also called to the crash.
The crash scene is currently cordoned off and the serious crash unit has been notified.
