Phillip Schofield disowns brother, Timothy Schofield, found guilty of sexually assaulting teenage boy

The boy told the jury at trial that he felt “emotionally blackmailed” by Timothy Schofield and was “coerced” into engaging in sexual activity.

He said, “I felt there was no emotional escape from what we had to do and I felt there was an enormous amount of pressure and expectation for me to comply with what was asked and demanded.”

Phillip Schofield described in a written statement how his brother called him one day agitated and upset, so he invited him to drive to his home in London.

The court heard they spent hours talking, including eating a meal, before the television star went to do the dishes.

He related how his brother said “you’re going to hate me for what I’m about to say”, with Phillip Schofield assuring him that he couldn’t say anything that would.

Phillip Schofield said in the statement: “Then he said that he and (the boy) had time together and they watched porn last year… and (masturbated).

“I turned around and said, ‘What did you just say?’ He said it was last year and we were alone together. Tim said it was for this one time. I told him never to let it happen again. He then started telling me about the boy’s body.

“I said, ‘F—, stop.’ I yelled at Tim to stop. I didn’t want to know details, but he made it sound like a one-off.

“I said, ‘I don’t want you to tell me more.’ I said, ‘You have to stop, just never do it again. However that happened, it must never happen again.’”
