Beautiful Dingle'S (Eden Taylor-Draper) dog Piper was deliberately hit by a car driven by Tom King (James Pursuit) in the evening of tonight Emmerdale.

Ever since Belle returned from Scotland, Tom has been trying to manipulate her into getting back together.

After months of physical and mental abuse, things changed again for Belle when she went to a Welsh cottage with Tom. Put in danger again and again, Belle took action by running away from the cottage with Piper in her arms and catching the bus back home.

To lure her back into their marriage, Tom surprised Belle with a new Mini Cooper. When Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) told Belle about the gift, she immediately said she couldn't accept it.

In Dale Head Belle told Tom that she didn't want to talk to him anymore and wanted to heal and move on. To her surprise Tom accepted this and left.

However, Tom was later seen sitting in the living room of Belle's house, watching her sleep via a security camera connected to his phone. While she was in Scotland, Tom sneaked into Dale Head and installed a camera in every room – including the bathroom.

In tonight's episode, Lydia Dingle (Karen Blik) visited Belle and suggested she come along Sam'S (James Hooton) birthday party at the pub. Belle was a little reluctant, but eventually decided to spend time with her family, leaving Piper at the Dingle house.

When Belle arrived, she saw Tom at the bar. He told her he was there to buy Sam a drink, but then turned his attention to them chatting.

Sitting down, Tom tried to tell Belle that she could have the new car by paying for it in installments, rather than accepting it as a gift. Belle said no, and then told Tom that she would prefer it if he wasn't in the pub.

Tom grabbed her wrist and became irritated as she tried to take control. Belle felt confident and told Tom to leave again, but her voice was loud enough for her family to hear.

Annoyed and embarrassed, Tom left.

Outside, after Tom broke the GPS tracker on the Mini, he got in and waited for a ride.

As we approach Dingle's house, Tom saw Piper, who had escaped and was sniffing some feathers.

A terrible idea formed, then we saw Tom Hit the gas and drive forward.

Before the episode ended, Tom was back in the village waiting for Belle to leave the pub.

Like her, he ran outside with Piper wrapped in a blanket, explaining to a stunned Belle that Piper had been hit by a car and was seriously injured.

Tom ran to the vet and told Belle he would do his best to save her.

But what will be the outcome? Will Tom Piper kill the dog?
