The police have an iinvestigation into a fatal accident in Kaitaia involving a vehicle and a person on March 31.
Emergency services rushed to Wireless Rd, Kaitaia around 11:45 p.m. Friday.
“One person was taken to hospital in critical condition, but unfortunately died of his injuries in hospital,” said the police spokesman.
The police are trying to uncover the events leading up to the crash and are asking the public for their help.
“We are asking anyone who was in the area between 11:30 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. to get in touch,” a spokesman said.
Police have asked anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage of the accident to contact police at 105 or onlinereferring to file number 230401/3048.
