Police have lifted their cordon from a building in Auckland’s Clendon Park where human remains were discovered.
Law enforcement descended on the address of Moncrieff Avenue was brought to the address on Thursday afternoon, after the remains were found in “property”.
The residents of the house were not involved in the incident, police said.
A murder investigation has started on Friday and a post-mortem examination began.

Detective Inspector Tofilau Faamanuia said police wanted to confirm the identity of the deceased, but identification and investigation may take some time given the nature of the discovery.
There was no immediate danger to the public, he said.
On Sunday, police kept quiet about the investigation, with a spokesperson saying there were no updates.
The police cordon was lifted on Sunday and there was no longer a strong smell, which neighbors complained about before the police arrived.
Neighbors previously said they saw a suitcase and bags being removed from a trailer near the property.
There was a strong “rotten” smell before police arrived, and a hearse had arrived at the property, neighbors said.
