Police brace for a busy night in Wellington as more than 35,000 rugby fans walk out of the Sky Stadium after the All Blacks crushing defeat to Ireland.
Police have confirmed that there will be more police presence in Wellington’s Courtenay Pl and Cuba St.
Ireland triumphed 32-22 over the All Blacks to win the series in front of more than 35,000 fans at the Sky Stadium.
Three people were caught from the stadium for breaking into the pitch, there were no major problems and the crowd was well behaved, a police spokesman said.

After the Irish side played the Māori All Blacks on Tuesday night, two men were arrested after an altercation involving a group of people at Sky Stadium.
The influx of Irish rugby fans already had Wellington’s catering owners planning for a big Saturday night.
D4 owner Dermot Murphy predicted the bar, which has three Irish beers on tap, is in for a huge weekend.
“Over the weekend we were able to sell 30 barrels of Guinness, which is about 1500 liters.”
