Princess Anne pays moving tribute to legacy of London Olympics on 10th anniversary | Royal | News

Yesterday, July 27, 2022, it was exactly ten years ago that the Opening Ceremony of the which ran until August 12 and Team GB won a total of 65 medals.

Royal fans flocked to the post, while Instagram user @sarcasmandschnappes wrote: “Friendly reminder that our amazing Monarch is a bona fide Bond girl.

During the opening ceremony, Her Majesty appeared in a skit with 007 actor Daniel Craig and left the audience stunned when she appeared to be skydiving from a helicopter, although this stunt was actually performed by a professional wearing a dress very similar to that of the queen.

Another user @jocelynekl wrote: “It was fantastic! I can’t believe it’s been ten years.”

Team GB also tweeted to mark the anniversary of the Games, saying: “65 medals and memories to last a lifetime.”

“The legacy of showing people what we can achieve with these big projects when you work together is huge.”

The 2012 Games were also particularly personal for the Princess Royal, as her daughter Zara Tindall was a member of the British Equestrian Team, which won a silver medal.

Anne presented the medal to Zara herself in an immensely proud moment for mother and daughter.
