Princess Charlotte ‘to the heart of her own grandmother’ as Queen’s retreat ‘absolute paradise’ | Royal | News

Eight-year-old Prince George and seven-year-old Princess Charlotte are separating on Friday and have two months left before they go to a new school with four-year-old little brother Louis, close to their new home in Windsor. Royal expert Ingrid Seward says William and Kate will have a whole host of plans to keep the kids entertained.

Ms Seward told The Sun: “The three children are incredibly athletic and so are their parents.

“The focus will be very much on outdoor activities, with swimming, fishing, hiking, horseback riding and sailing.”

While the pair embraced the staycation trend last year and visited the Isles of Scilly, Ingrid believes they will return to more exotic climes — and turn to Kate’s parents for pick-me-up.

She went on to say: “It’s been a long holiday so I’m guessing Carole and Michael Middleton, as grandparents, will probably have the kids a little bit of the summer to themselves.

“They usually go to Balmoral to spend some time with the Queen and the rest of the family and this year I think they will also go abroad for a short while probably to Mustique as William and Kate are having a change from surroundings.”

During the bank holiday weekend in August, it is tradition for the royal family to gather at Balmoral Estate in Scotland, where the Queen spends her summer.

Mrs. Seward said: “The Queen loves being in Balmoral.

“William has a house on the property, Tam Na Ghar, which was a gift to him and Harry from the Queen Mother and is located on a deer track from Prince Charles’ home in Birkhall.”

‘Charlotte loves ponies, so she’s a girl after her own grandmother’s heart.

“All the kids love it there because they have picnics every day and sometimes family barbecues in the evenings, which have always been a favorite of Prince Philip.

“And kids don’t care about the mosquitoes and the rain.”
