Nick Ferrari was left gaping as he branded 's portrait bears an extremely poor resemblance to her, describing it as having a “jaw hitting the floor”. The image, taken by Hannah Uzor, was unveiled as the cover of Tatler Magazine in July, with the publication calling it “a portrait of strength and dignity”.

Kate didn't sit down for the portrait, but the British-Zambian artist emphasized that, like her other illustrations, it is “made up of layers of a personality, built from everything I can find about it.” [her]Still, Nick stated that he “really hated” the artwork.

“I don't know much about art, but I know what I really hate – and I really hate this particular one,” he exclaimed. “It's not working for me. We have been blessed with the most special, attractive, striking looking young woman and I'm afraid this does nothing to convey that for me!”

He added that he would have been tempted to call to ask the artist to make another attempt at the illustration, which led to laughter in the studio. Cat Deeley joked that a school-style report card would say, “You have to try harder!”

Sonia Sodha then joined the debate and although she was more moderate in her words, she was also unimpressed. “If it was mine, I would want it to look a little more like me facially,” she explained, before pausing to ask if her words were “diplomatic enough.”

However, Ben Shephard then reminded them: “It was commissioned by Tatler to honor the bravery and dignity of the Royal Family.”

On Twitter, the response from viewers was overwhelmingly negative, with one cheeky swipe calling for the artist to go to Specsavers.

“That portrait of Kate is absolutely awful. There is no resemblance at all. I hope they get a refund!! #ThisMorning,” joked one fan of the ITV show.

“Catherine is beautiful, that portrait is awful,” exclaimed another, while a third said it “didn't do Kate justice”.

“It's an inference process that it looks like the Princess of Wales, rather than being instantly recognisable,” said another tweeter.

“Create a lifelike portrait of the Princess of Wales now!” asked another.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, Kate released a family photo of herself and the three children she shares Prince Williambut it was rejected due to claims that it had been digitally altered.

The princess, who has undergone preventive chemotherapy after doctors found cancer cells in her body, apologized for causing a confession with the image and received huge public support.
