Drug dealer Jayden James Piercy, 22, was sent to jail after being sentenced in the Invercargill District Court on Thursday.

The invercargill and Queenstown drug dealers were greedy men who thought nothing about the people he was destroying, the judge said.

Judge Kevin Phillips sentenced Jayden James Piercy, 22, to three years and ten months in prison when he appeared in the Invercargill District Court on Thursday.

Piercy had previously pleaded guilty to offering to supply and sell cannabis, possessing LSD for supply, possessing cannabis for sale, and refusing to provide police with a mobile phone PIN code.

Judge Phillips said Pierce was involved in an important and ongoing drug trading company in Invercargill and Queenstown.

The judge said he made money by completely ignoring the impact of drug trafficking on people’s lives, including children.

Piercy’s crime was revealed after police seized a phone while searching for a car in Queenstown. The phone showed that it was in regular contact with Piercy in procuring large amounts of cannabis and LSD to supply the Queenstown and Invercargill markets.

Police searched Piercy’s house in October 2021 and found over $ 12,000 in cash, 1655 LSD tabs, and £ 8.86 cannabis.

Attorney Bill Dawkins said drugs have been a hallmark of Pearcy’s life from an early age, and his father had previously been convicted of selling cannabis.

The court heard that Pearcy was using synthetic cannabis at the age of 14 and was convicted of dealing with cannabis at the age of 17.

The judge told Piercy: [17] And here we are five years later. You are involved in a Class A drug transaction. “

His use of drugs from an early age eventually led him to court on Thursday, but the judge said he was only selling drugs to pay for his own habits. I didn’t accept it.

“There is no solid evidence that you are a drug addict.”
