Qualcomm, a world-renowned semiconductor manufacturer, has deepened its partnership with South Korean tech giant Samsung. Both companies have agreed to extend the patent licensing agreement for 3G, 4G, 5G and 6G cellular technology until the end of 2030. Qualcomm and Samsung said they would work together to better integrate the Snapdragon platforms for future Galaxy products, including premium smartphones, tablets, wearables and more.

Cristiano Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm, has suggested about the Galaxy S23 Series by his statements. Remember when there were rumors that Samsung would completely ditch Exynos chips for the Galaxy S23 series? Well, that may be true. According to Amon, Qualcomm had 75% of the Galaxy S22 series before this deal, and after that, that figure will only improve.

Samsung could ditch Exynos chips

Samsung could really ditch the Exynos chips and go for flagship Qualcomm chipsets. In various markets, there was not too much respect for the Exynos chips anyway. Users just wanted to go for a Samsung smartphone which came with a Qualcomm chipset. Samsung has a range of products that can be powered by Qualcomm chipsets.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen1 will power the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Samsung’s ultra-premium flagship smartphone, as early as 2022. Samsung will also go for the flagship Qualcomm chip in 2023. This partnership will certainly be a very profitable one for both companies. When it comes to smartphones in the ultra-premium price range, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen1, is considered one of the best devices on the market today. It is because of the power that the device can bring to the table and the smooth experience that users get from it. The Galaxy S23 series is expected to go official in early 2023 (most likely in January, as happened with the Galaxy S22 series).
