Express Royal Correspondent Richard Palmer told Royal Round Up host Pandora Forsyth de Queen was “concerned” about the then newly married royals when they lived in the UK. Amid a media storm and increasingly hostile relations with the British public, the Queen visited her “quite regularly” grandson and Mrs Markle “to make sure they were okay,” claimed Mr. Palmer. It comes as Prince Harry faced fresh criticism for his keynote speech at the UN General Assembly on Monday, and the pair braced themselves for the release of a new Tom Bower biography detailing the pair’s bitter split from the royal family is described.
Mr Palmer said: ‘I do know that when the Sussex’s lived in Windsor, the Queen came regularly to see them.
“She was concerned about how unhappy and restless they were.
“So, I was told at one point that she was going around to see them to make sure they were okay.”
Ms Forsyth said, “And the fact that they’ve moved too, now she can’t really come over for a cup of tea.”
In the latest round of criticism of the Sussex’s, Prince Harry has been met with disdain for speaking out against the US Constitution during his New York speech to mark International Nelson Mandela Day.
The British prince warned of “rolling back constitutional rights” in a brief response to the Supreme Court over their recent annulment of Roe v Wade.
Earlier on the Royal Round Up, Mr Palmer said the Duke had become “a division” in the US, and that he and Ms Markle had “gained the support of the people” during the speech.
It comes as biographer Tom Bower prepares for the release of his new book, titled Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, which looks set to unleash a media storm.
