RAF Red Arrows flyover route mapped for Trooping the Color | Royal | News

A large formation of military aircraft will take part in the flypast for the King's birthday.

It will feature the iconic Red arrows and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, which includes a Lancaster bomber usually flanked by 12 other aircraft: Spitfires, Hurricanes, a Dakota and a pair of DHC-1 Chipmunks.

More aircraft have yet to be confirmed.

On that day, restrictions will be imposed on aircraft in the North Sea area, East Anglia, Essex and London, to ensure the safe passage of the Flypast over Buckingham Palace.

The spread will be to the west and northwest of London, across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

The route of the RAF flyover crosses several counties before entering London at 12.40pm.

Firstly, the planes gathered over the water just off the Suffolk coast at around 11am.

They then come ashore, via Suffolk, passing through Ipswich after 12.30 and then into Essex around 12.35.

The planes will then fly over Colchester and past Chelmsford at approximately 12.40pm.

They enter London from the northeast, usually flying over Hainaut before reaching the center of the capital via Stratford.

This is not expected until 12.40pm at the earliest, while the Buckingham Palace flyover is scheduled for 1pm.

After passing over the royal residence, the planes leave the city via the northwest, towards the east of Oxford, before landing in Reading.

Rehearsals will take place on Monday, June 3, but if weather obscures visibility, this will take place on Tuesday, June 4.

They will start at 11am near the North Sea, bordering East Anglia, and then travel over RAF Marham in Norfolk before flying over RAF Cranwell and RAF Waddington.

The spread will take place over Lincolnshire at around 12.35pm.
