RAPPER JayDaYoungan has died and a family member has been injured after a shooting outside a Louisiana home, police say.
Bogalusa police have confirmed that the 24-year-old rapper, whose real name is Javorius Tykies Scott, has died from his injuries.
JayDaYoungan’s relative, Kenyatta Scott Sr, has been transported to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition, police said.
Bogalusa police confirmed earlier in the evening that two separate shootings had taken place and that they were investigating a possible connection between the incidents.
The first took place just before 6 p.m. outside a house on Superior Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers found that one victim had been taken to a nearby hospital, while another had been seriously injured at the scene.

As police transported the badly injured victim and arranged “a chaotic scene in the hospital,” the second shooting was reported on Marshall Richardson Road.
A vehicle was shot down, though passengers were not hit, and police believe it may be related to the initial shooting.
Officials are continuing to investigate.
Anyone with information on both crimes is requested to contact the Detective Division at (985) 732-6238.
Immediately after the first shooting, an apparent family member made rumors on Twitter that the rapper had died.
The same person later tweeted a message in which they expressed their grief with heartbroken emojis.
According to social media posts, JayDaYoungan has a young son.
A young child is featured in an Instagram video the rapper posted hours before his death.
JayDaYoungan is best known for his singles ’23 Island’, ‘Elimination’ and ‘Opps’.
Tributes for the rapper continue to pour in on social media.
“Rest in peace JayDaYoungan, one of Louisiana’s best performers, pray again for his children and the rest of his family, husband way too soon,” one person wrote.
“Damn Jaydayoungan, I’m really starting to worry about all the rappers we’re losing. I just don’t get it. If I made it big I would NEVER watch the street again. Smh,” one fan tweeted.
“Jaydayoungan is one of the few rappers I listen to too. I’m heartbroken and ready to take life more seriously,” wrote another fan.

“Damn RIP to @JayDaYoungan man, I swear people these days just have no respect for human life,” wrote another.
“Please tell me Jaydayoungan isn’t dead. I’m literally crying…” another person tweeted.
