When she shed light on her own sting operation — which really read like a whodunnit — the 36-year-old ended the upload with a series of poignant dots, we got to those fateful words and learned it was “….Rebekah Vardy’s account.”

Vardy immediately took legal action and things picked up speed when the pair faced off in court, but it was sketches from the courtroom artists that really set the tone for the proceedings.

Aside from the hand-drawn photos, Vardy had to deal with many awkward moments on the booth, including the day her furious text messages were read in courtas well as a repeat of chipolata-gate – but more on that later…

Speaking to Watt, she seemed disgusted by Rooney, saying, “That bastard needs to get over himself!”

While in another, she referred to her as a ‘nasty b***h’, ‘such ad**k’ and ‘declared war’ to the mother-of-four.

After Rooney’s Instagram post became clear about her covert operation in which she shared the role of Vardy, Vardy seemed to respond by telling her agent, “That’s war.”

Lyrics with ‘hubby’ Jamie Vardy

Those weren’t the only messages from Vardy that emerged during the trial, as her text exchange with her husband was also shared for the world.

In 2016, she sent her partner – saved to her phone as ‘Hubby’ – a link to an article reporting that former England captain Rooney was ‘having conversations’ with Vardy about his wife’s behavior during the Euro 2016 tournament.

Screenshots of their exchange were released, in which she told him, “Seriously????”

“No, not at all babes x,” he tried to soothe her, to which she replied, “T*** is trying to make me a scapegoat X.”

“F*****g motherfuckers x,” her husband added.

In another screenshot, she linked to an article about the alleged conversations and told him, “Jesus… This has got to come from somewhere! Bet it’s his madam manager X.’

She added that the speculation was “boiling her blood” and claimed it was “not fair” for her to be “bullied”.

Davy Jones’ locker

Rebekah also wondered who Davy Jones was at one point (Picture: PA)

In between tears, Vardy managed to make the courtroom laugh when she was stunned at a reference to Davy Jones’ lockerwhen discussing Watt’s missing phone.

In case you forgot, her agent said her phone had fallen into the North Sea and could not be recovered, leading to confusion in the stands.

Mr Sherborne, Mrs. Rooney’s lawyer, commented, ‘We know Miss Watt’s phone is now in Davy Jones’ locker, don’t we, Mrs Vardy?’

A confused Vardy replied, “I’m sorry, I don’t know who Davy Jones is.”

The courtroom burst into laughter when the judge had to explain the idiom — referring to the resting place of sailors who drowned at the bottom of the sea — which is also a crucial part of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Perhaps Vardy missed the hugely popular Disney series…

Chipotle drama

Chipolata-gate reared its ugly head again during the trial, reminding us of Vardy’s comments about the size of Peter Andre’s manhood.

At one point, during an interview with News of the World, Vardy was referred to her quotes about an alleged sexual encounter with the Mysterious Girl singer — something she apologized for in 2020.

He read the headline in court — ‘Peter hung like a little chipolata, shaved, drool, lasts five minutes’ — before sharing excerpts from the article, which claimed Andre had had “only five minutes of sex.”

Vardy also said at the time that he had “the tiniest trouser outfit I’ve ever seen” that resembled a “miniature chipolata.”

Referring to the comments, she was asked if it was “respectful” to the father of four that the information was shared with a newspaper, to which she replied: “I was forced into a situation by my ex-husband to do this.

“It’s something I deeply regret… It’s not fun to read and I understand why this is being used and to me this is mud-throwing and I was also threatened with mud-throwing by Mrs. Rooney’s team.”

“The circumstances around it were completely different.”

Vardy later said she didn’t ask Andre for his permission or tell him it would happen in advance.

When the comments were reused and used in court, Andre spoke about the situation in a now-deleted social media post, telling followers: “Do you know how hard it is to keep biting my lip in situations?

“But the way I look at it, most people in the jungle saw an acorn turn into an oak tree, so I guess I’m fine.”

“At least she’s now admitted it wasn’t true and was forced to say it.”

The judge’s final verdict

The trial took place in May, with the courtroom antics lasting a little over a weekbefore the judge delivered her verdict today.

In her ruling, Justice Steyn said it was “probable” that Vardy’s then-agent Caroline Watt took “the direct act” to pass the information on to The Sun.

But she added: “Nevertheless, the evidence… in my view clearly shows that Ms. Vardy was aware of and condoned this behavior. attention to topics that may be of interest to the press, and answering additional questions from the press via Ms Watt.’

“In my opinion, the conclusions I have drawn as to the extent to which Plaintiff was involved in disclosing information to The Sun that she had access to only as an authorized follower of an Instagram account of which she knew, and Ms Rooney repeatedly claimed , was private, suffices to show that the single meaning is essentially true.’
