Red Wall Voters Criticize Tories For Booting Boris After ‘Choosing Them’ | UK | News

Outraged residents of Bolton pointed out to the Tories that: Boris Johnson was the one who got them elected as they stormed to victory in the 2019 general election after stealing votes from Labor in the Red Wall. Dave, landlord of The Sportsmans, said it was “outrageous” and that Tory MPs should have supported the outgoing Prime Minister, as he is the reason they are in power in the first place.

The Bolton resident said Mr Johnson had been “taken from us”.

He told Sky News: “I just think it’s a shame that the man we voted for, the Conservatives voted, and the North of England voted, voted the Red Wall.. a lot of people who voted for the first time, a lot of people who normally voted Labor and now he has been taken from us, rightly or wrongly, but the general public has not had a chance to have their say and say how they feel.

“We knew what we got when we voted for Boris, we knew he made stupid mistakes and said things he didn’t mean and joked.

“We knew that when we elected him. It was taken from us by a relentless media campaign

“When the MPs started switching, they all jump on the same ship, they all leave as one. My opinion is that they should have supported him because he is the one who chose them

“Many of these very slim majority Conservative MPs are unlikely to be re-voted and I think it’s an own goal.”

Another resident Mark said: “I think it’s a great shame.

“I think a person as farsighted as he used to be… to actually get stabbed in the back, I think it’s a shame actually.”

About what she liked about Mr. Johnson, Ann said, “He’s young, he’s foresighted, he really stood for what we believed in and he took it by force.

“He was a good man and still is a good man. Yes, he made mistakes, we all make mistakes, big mistakes in fact.

“All this about Partygate and the rest, it’s just bullshit…all of them screwed up to get him out and it’s wrong.”

Responding to comments from Red Wall voters, Baroness Kate Hoey predicted turnout in the next election would be “very low” as people would ask why they bother to vote.

She tweeted: “My prediction is that turnout in the next general election will be very low compared to 2019.

“People who simply say why bother and what the point is if who we voted for could be wiped out by a media frenzy supported by MPs following the fold.”

Brugse Groep predicted “serious difficulties” for the next Tory leader.

The Eurosceptic think tank added: “The Red Wall voters were tired of being ignored by the establishment and supported a man who listened to their concerns, only to see him evicted.

“The striking words of these Bolton voters foretold serious trouble for the next Tory leader.”
