A woman has died after being attacked by a dog in South Yorkshire.
The 43-year-old was fatally mauled Friday night at an address in West Melton, Rotherham.
A 42-year-old man was also taken to hospital with serious injuries to his face, hands and body.
police took two dogs away from the property, neither is a forbidden race.
South Yorkshire Police said: ‘We were called to a property on Masefield Road in West Melton at about 10:15 pm by a member of the public who had attacked a dog himself and a woman.
Officers attended with a Yorkshire Ambulance Crew and found a 42-year-old man with a potentially life-changing injury to one hand, plus injuries to his other hand, abdomen and face.
He was transported to hospital for further treatment.
“The woman, 43 years old, was fatally bitten and unfortunately died despite all the efforts of the emergency services on the spot.”
