Meghan markle's one big mistake was a major reason for her and Prince Harry's exile from the Royal family, a royal expert has suggested. Had Meghan shown “restraint” in the couple's tell-all interview with Oprah Winfey, the couple might not have been cut off from the firm.
The couple spoke to the American personality in early 2021 for their first interview since making the decision to step down as senior working royals. During the two-hour special, Meghan described the lack of support she received while working as a royal and claimed discussions had taken place about the skin color of their then-unborn son.
Royal expert and author Tom Quinn told the story Mirror: “Everyone noted that William and Kate and the royal family in general were quite restrained in their responses to the Oprah interview, which made them look good. It would have been much better – and Harry and Meghan can see this now – if they had done so, it would have been measured in the same way.”
Mr Quinn added: “They could have said to Oprah, 'We know it hasn't been easy for anyone and we know the Royal Family has its own traditions, but they could have been more flexible and welcoming to Meghan'. approached it in such a way that anyone, including the royal family, would have taken much less lightly to cut the couple off so completely.
