Ruby’s surviving tail after getting lost during a nature call

Ruby, an 11-year-old Labrador, stood outside a laundromat in Christchurch, a suburb, and it got dark at 5am, -3 ° C. It was completely lost.

She was cold and wet after somehow getting lost when she went to the bathroom every night.

Shannon and his friends, who lived near Linwood Laundromat in Buckleys Rd, found Ruby confused when they went to the laundry early in the morning.

Ruby’s worried family, less than a kilometer away, was looking for her as the temperature dropped below freezing.

For the next two and a half days, they didn’t know what had happened to her and continued their search, fearing she might have been stolen.

Ruby was staring at Shannon and his friends as they approached the laundromat. He thought it was a homeless male dog who visited the area frequently.

So I approached Ruby, but she took off. Shannon later noticed that he was curled up in a “wet and cold” ball near the bus stop.

He walked Ruby back to a nearby house.

She was happy to go, and after giving her some of her dog biscuits, she curled up on the couch.

Ruby stayed at Shannon’s house for the next two nights. He wasted trying to find a homeless man in Lynnwood who he thought Ruby belonged to. Her ruby owner, Sammano, was desperately posting on social media to track her.

The order started last Wednesday night when an uncollared ruby at home just went out.

Mano, who has had rubies since he was a puppy, went looking for them a few hours after he didn’t come back.

“I’m afraid to have a dog for some reason … I don’t feel good about my family going missing,” Mano said.

The next morning, Ruby hadn’t returned yet, so the Mano family started posting to the Facebook community group and found a pet page hoping someone would know her whereabouts.

In total, the post had nearly 500 shares and over 100 comments from people showing support for their families.

On Saturday, Shannon’s friends saw a social media post and noticed that they weren’t homeless man dogs, Labrador.

I contacted Manos to see if the rubies belonged to them. He was surprised that Ruby went as far as her.

“It’s quite a distance for such an old dog, especially at night, it’s cold … don’t leave a poor soul outside in this cold weather,” Shannon said.

According to Shannon, the $ 300 reward posted for the resurgence of Ruby has come to a “beneficial time.”

When Mano arrived at Shannon’s house, he said that as soon as he saw the car, Ruby got excited and started jumping.

“If you know Ruby, her tail is flying at 100mph. Yes, she was very happy to see us.”

Mano said the return of Ruby was due to the efforts of the team by the community. It was great to see the response.

“The general public was great … [we had] I offered to help a stranger put out a leaflet, “he said.
