Ryan Reynolds honors Will Ferrell birthday with stepbrothers tribute – The Hollywood Reporter

It happens that Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell maybe ready to do karate in the garage.

In honor of Ferrell’s 55th birthday, Reynolds took to… TikTok on Saturday to post one video pay tribute to a pivotal scene from the Saturday Night Live alum’s 2008 hit comedy, stepbrothers. Near the end of the Adam McKay-directed film, Ferrell’s character, Brennan, takes the stage at the Catalina Wine Mixer with stepbrother Dale (John C. Reilly) to perform a rendition of “Por Ti Volaré,” a song that was initially made popular by Andrea Bocelli.

Reynolds laughs in the video as the song plays in the background. Unlike in the movie, where Ferrell sings the Spanish-language lyrics, Reynolds is silent and seems confused about when to start singing.

At the bottom of the free man the actor’s post is the message: “Happy Birthday, Will Ferrell!!!”

The two stars will appear together in the near future Apple TV+ Movie spicya musical retelling of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas song.

In November, Reynolds was set to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on the same night that Will Ferrell was the announced guest on The Tonight Show. Instead, the two stars switched places, with Jimmy Kimmel Ferrell asking the questions he supposedly intended to use for Reynolds, while Jimmy Fallon did the same with Reynolds.
