Ryan Clark won’t stand someone talking bad about their mother and, frankly, we feel him.
The Essex couple are a firm favorite on Celebrity Gogglebox as Rylan and Linda brighten up our Friday nights forever with their mother and son antics.
However, it seems that not everyone sees the funny side of their banter, with some social media trolls using the Big Brother star of being ‘terrible’ for Queen Linda – who, we should point out, is responsible for some of the most iconic Gogglebox moments ever.
On Friday’s episode, the pair giggled when Linda asked Rylan if he had any more “chicken sushi,” well, at least she was. to attempt say.
Instead, she had some trouble pronouncing the word, so it sounded more like “suchet.”
Linda kept asking her son to repeat the word, but he encouraged her to keep trying before giving up and refusing: “No, I’m not saying it,” she told him.
She resorted to asking for “chicken with breadcrumbs around it,” before telling her son to “stop.”
After some viewers accused the Radio 2 presenter of mocking his mother, he quickly shut down the claims.
“Rylan is so mean to his mom on #CelebrityGogglebox it’s so uncomfortable to watch,” one wrote.
Rylan tweeted: “Anyone who says I’m horrible to Mom, please have a sense of humour, she’s got her sushi… Also, she’s built her a house, whatever she asks, and a new hedge trimmer this week… .. she’s good’.
He added: ‘Take care of your mothers and have a laugh with them too’, before signing off with ‘See you next year’, after the series finale of the Channel 4 show.
Fans rushed to shower the hilarious duo with love, with many Linda sticking up for her own show, and others saying the pair are the “best” of Gogglebox.
“Rylan’s mom on gogglebox is the highlight of my week,” wrote one Twitter user.
“I love the relationship you have with your mom, you guys laugh together and take the micky, but you can see how much your mom means to you. Cherish every moment together,” another told the star.
Another added: ‘It’s obvious how much you love your mother the way she loves you. You have a great relationship and you both make me laugh.’
Rylan’s mom has cemented herself not only as a Gogglebox darling but also a favorite on her son’s radio show for the past few years.
The Supermarket Sweep host has said in the past that the duo offered so many deals together, but they had to turn them down for a sad reason.
“We’ve been offered hundreds of things. We were asked to do a travel show and the chance to go here and there. It would be hilarious, but she’s just not good enough to do it,” he said Daily star.
“Gogglebox is enough for us. She’s comfortable with that show because we’re just sitting in my kitchen.”
