SAMSON Dingle suffers a fatal injury in Emmerdale next week.
Lydia Dingle – played by Karen Blick on the ITV soap – is concerned about Samson's (Sam Hall) plans to travel through Europe by car with his new friend Josh.
She secretly hopes that he will fail his test and that the second-hand car Sam (James Hooton) gave him will not be roadworthy.
But soon Samson is delighted when Cain (Jeff Hordley) gives his motorcycle a seal of approval.
When Samson arrives without 'L' plates and Josh announces that Samson has passed his driving test, Samson is miffed by Lydia's perfunctory congratulations.
Celebrating in the HOP Josh is unknowingly interested in the newlywed Amy.
Feeling somewhat rejected by Sarah, Josh seeks out Amy again – and it's clear he knows Matty (Ash Palmisciano) is transgender.
Amy struggles with Josh's endless flirting and leaves work early.
When Matty tells Josh some truths about his behavior and tells Josh and Samson to leave the premises, Josh is left furious and ashamed.
Josh's anger grows when Matty gains the upper hand over him again. Outside HOP, Josh starts deadnaming Matty and goes back inside to teach him a lesson. Samson follows despite his doubts.
The situation between Josh and Matty becomes increasingly hostile for Matty, until Josh starts threatening him to give up the money in the register.
The standoff escalates and Josh pushes Samson into Matty, causing him to be stabbed by the knife Matty was holding.
As Samson bleeds and Josh steps back and accuses Matty of coming at them with the knife, Matty is stunned to realize the story has been reversed and panics about what the consequences could be for him.
