Samsung charging tip – what is the best way to charge?
Here's Samsung's official advice…
To get the most out of your smartphone battery, you need to charge it properly.
Most smartphones have a lithium-ion battery that lasts longer if charged regularly.
Unlike the nickel batteries used in older phones, lithium-ion batteries work best when charged above 50 percent.
Repeatedly allowing the battery to fully discharge can shorten its lifespan and reduce its overall capacity.
If this happens, you will need to charge the battery more often and it may only last a few hours before needing to be recharged, for example.
Leaving the phone connected to the charger during use (while the phone is fully charged) can shorten the battery life if you do this repeatedly.
Samsung explains: “To use the super fast charging function, you must use a USB PD (Power Delivery) charger that supports 'Super fast charging'.
“For the S22/S23, it is recommended to use a 25W charger (battery capacity 3700mAh).
“And a 45W charger for the Galaxy S22+/S23+ and Galaxy S22/S23 Ultra (battery capacity 4500-5000mAh).”
Of course, you may encounter problems.
If the charger does not have enough power, fast charging or super fast charging will not be activated.
It also won't activate if you just use a standard battery charger.
Samsung warns that the feature may not work if you don't use one of the company's officially approved adapters.
Samsung indicates that the battery can be charged even faster when the device is switched off.
Or at least leave the screen off so the battery can charge faster.
In addition, Samsung warns: “If the device heats up or the ambient temperature rises, the charging speed may automatically decrease.
“This is a normal operating condition to prevent damage to the device.”
