Samuel L Jackson at bingo in Glasgow was the last thing we expected this weekend.

But in a real twist of events, the actor made a surprise appearance at a club night, making the locals happy.

The 74-year-old star was in good spirits when he made an unannounced stir at the Bongo’s Bingo event at the city’s SWG3 on Saturday (April 1).

Bongo’s Bingo features traditional bingo as well as dance-offs, raves and crowd games, creating a truly wild atmosphere that Jackson would surely have loved.

Social media images captured by Capital FM radio DJ Katy J show the Academy Award winner laughing from the side of the stage while enjoying a drag act performance.

The Hollywood star was beaming when he actually filmed the show on his phone, totally in his element.

The internet, of course, was obsessed with the spontaneous appearance of the Pulp Fiction Star, with one person tweeting, “Samuel L Jackson at Bongos Bingo in Glasgow. Now there’s a sentence I never thought I’d type.”

“I need to know why and how Samuel L Jackson got into bongos bingo, this is amazing,” wrote another.

“Samuel l Jackson bingo on bongos on April 1st is the hardest thing the simulation has simulated in ages,” one of them tweeted.

Jackson was supposed to be in Glasgow filming a new thriller called Damaged deadline.

Starring Vincent Cassel, the film follows a Chicago detective who heads to Scotland after an up-and-coming serial killer’s crimes match those he had investigated five years earlier, including the crime scene of his murdered girlfriend.

Other lead roles include Gianni Capaldi (A Day to Die), Kate Dickie (The Witch) and John Hannah (The Mummy), while Terry McDonough directs Killing Eve and Breaking Bad.

It seems his trip to Glasgow also visited local restaurants, as Jackson enjoyed a bite to eat at a Chinese restaurant and even took selfies with staff members.

The family business took to Facebook to share their excitement about his visit.

‘To look at! The legend, Samuel L. Jackson, joined us for a bite to eat during a break from filming his latest movie, Damaged,” they wrote.

He was kind enough to snap a few selfies with the staff after enjoying some of our signature dishes with his co-stars.

“Another A-Lister added to the Amber Regent wall of fame!”
